The weekend of December 10 and 11 this a must visit weekend in Windermere. Not that many people need an excuse to visit this fantastic part of the country.
For Windermere will be hosting a brand new festive market, the JA Windermere Christmas German Market. Two whole days of full on festiveness guaranteed to put Christmas cheer on even the most Ba humbug of person.
German markets line the streets of many city centres up and down the country during December bringing gifts, crafts, food and fun but not from local suppliers and producers. The JA Windermere market has been created by Windermere Information Centre, Councillor Ben Berry and Made in Cumbria ensuring all forty+ stalls are local just with a German twist.
The market will be in full flow on Saturday 10th December – 9.30am to 5pm and Sunday 11th December – 10am to 4pm and located along Victoria Street in the heart of the village. To top it all off there’s the fabulous choice of shops which will be open in Windermere to peruse also.
There will also be a Mountain Goat Santa’s Grotto, Brass Band, Choirs, a true community event both locals and visitors will not want to miss and a super chance to buy those last minute gifts, get stocked up on foodie produce for the festive period and to start Christmas officially.
